Reasons to bake whole wheat bread at home
Walk down your grocer's bread isle and look at the labels of the bread. Now turn some over and look at the list of ingredients on store bought bread. Even 'healthy' bread has a long list of ingredients. One of the ingredients that you will find hidden in mass produced bread is high fructose corn syrup. This is one of the fastest hitting simple carbohydrates your blood stream will ever eat. Not only is it a simple sugar, but it is from a source that has been genetically modified.
Look at a simple whole wheat bread recipe. My recipe has a grand total of six (6) ingredients. All are organic or at least natural and not modified. No hidden ingredients in what is made at home, provided basic ingredients are used.
Take the time to read labels and nutritional information. You have more control and authority over the food that goes into your own body (and your family's bodies) than any other choice you can make with your daily actions. You are your own best quality control agent. No more hidden ingredients.
